Little Canyon Collective

LITTLE CANYON COLLECTIVE

Little Canyon Collective is an alternative provision set up and run by musicians and artists providing a creative hub for individuals with a variety of support needs to meet, experience and create together.

We're very passionate about providing a platform that differs from mainstream support services, focusing on each person's individual skills, passion's and interests to pioneer their development. We don't want to be seen as a support service, instead we see everyone that attends (including ourselves) as being on the same level working together to grow and enjoy everything that life has to offer!

The core of Little Canyon Collective is that we will support those that attend to sell what they create through our online store in which they'll receive 100% of the profits, as well as partnering with local shops and business's to give the best platform to begin building a portfolio of work.We run an initial 11 week course based around organic screen printing, filmmaking, music, art,  photography, t-shirt design and printing and whatever else you'd like to explore (even Mongolian Throat singing, if you can think of it we'll explore it together).

During the course you will get to know the course leaders, socialise with new people, learn new skills, develop your passion's, explore current and new interests and become an integral part of Little Canyon Collective.

James Waring

James founded Little Canyon Printworks in 2015 after many years screen printing in shared spaces.

His focus was on finding the best methods for screen printing record sleeves for his own musical projects, once he cracked that he opened up the service for the rest of us and has been screen printing record sleeves for the UK music industry ever since.

Alongside founding the Printworks James has over a decade's experience working in support care and is excited to bring the two worlds together for the Collective.

Arran Day

Arran began working in social care at the age of 21 and immediately developed a passion for working with disadvantaged young people particularly those living with Autism/Asperges, striving to help them reach their goals and experience all that life has to offer.

Before working in social care Arran had several different jobs around live music and Joinery but quickly realised that this wasn't where he wanted to be, when he was given the opportunity to begin supporting others he saw it as a second chance and believes everyone should have the opportunity do what makes them happy.

After working as a manager in the Semi independence sector and specialised work with high functioning Asperges with Nottingham Autism Support Services Arran now works with the Leaving Care Team with Nottinghamshire County Council. Alongside this Arran also plays Lead Guitar with Derby based rock band 'These Wicked Rivers'.

REVIEWS

The course was perfect for my son and his needs, the activities were all things that he is interested in, he really enjoyed doing the podcasts and Garageband.

Having 1-1 support really helps keep him keep focused so he can learn and achieve at his own pace. It was great that he was able to develop a new friendship with the others on the course, being able to give someone else support gives him a sense of achievement.

Thank you so much this was perfect, he can’t wait to return!
